Loving Like God Loves

In the Bible, we, as Christ followers are called to love our Heavenly Father with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength and to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. I’ve been thinking a lot about love and whether or not I’m loving others like God loves them. I saw this video in church one time and I tried to find the link, but I apologize I couldn’t come across it. The video was of a man who just went about his daily activities in life such as breakfast at a diner, walking to work, and then driving in his car. Everywhere he went there were people that he questioned what was going on in the heads and in their lives. Then, all of a sudden, a pair of glasses shows up in front of him…when he puts them on, he sees like he never has before. When the next day comes, the man goes about those same activities once again, but this time, he did it with those glasses on. What he saw wasn’t a different world, but instead, he saw the world through God’s eyes. This video clip was amazing because no matter where the guy with the glasses would look, people were hurting. There was so many different kinds of hurt too: divorces, unemployment, homelessness, loneliness, and much more. After seeing this video in church that day, I was never the same. I want to look at people through that pair of glasses: not so I can see their problems and become a thearpist for them, but simply to be Christ to them and pray for them. I am blessed by the love God rains down on me and I desire to show that same passionate love to those around me. I pray that all who come to know God see His love, support, and care in all of you. You may plant the seed of change in someone who just needs a little more love in their lives. The Bible doesn’t say it’s going to be easy to show Christ love, but once you do, not only will you bless the lives of those around you, you too will be blessed through Christ’s love. God Bless.
