Time...

I’m sure we all feel busy in the midst of our schedules…I sure do. Did you ever take the time to just sit and relax? To not care about a single thing?

Well, I did this weekend. I got to spend some special time with my sister and although I rushed to get my homework done at the last minute, it was COMPLETELY worth it. I can’t believe I was so blind as to not even see that my sister truly needed me. She would always say that she wanted to watch a movie or play games with me, but there was never a time where we actually did. I was clueless and I can’t believe it took me this long to realize the obvious: my sister was crying out for me to simply listen….listen.

Doesn’t this remind you of someone? – and not just anyone, but a very important someone: our Heavenly Father. He is waiting, just waiting for us to come to Him. He is always here to listen but WE need to relax and take the time to stop, go to Him. and talk. Emotionally it will help you feel better, but even more importantly, spiritually you will grow fonder of this incredibly God we follow.

Just like I provided a simple ear to my sister this weekend, our Heavenly Father has an ear for each and every one of you. Our God is a jealous God and He WANTS to listen to us, but the amazing thing is He won’t beg us to come to Him. He sent His son to die for us so that we would come to Him; that’s how bad He wants to come and talk, but He won’t make you. That’s a blessing. So what will you do? Will you stop for a moment and take the time? -to really let your Father listen?
